Hi Daniel,

AWESOME! I was not aware of this project - just reading the docs makes me drool <img src="http://www.lenzg.org/templates/default/img/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":-)" style="display: inline; vertical-align: bottom;" class="emoticon" />

I will take a closer look at it right away. Thanks for the hint!

Just in case you don't know that one yet:

If you are interested in shooting raw photos and in advanced control options (including Basic scripting support), the Canon Hacker's Development Kit may be interesting for you:
http://chdk.wikia.com/

I just discovered that a few weeks ago and use it on my Canon Ixus 60 / Powershot 600SD. Works really great!

If you follow the link on https://code.edge.launchpad.net/mylvmbackup to set a main development branch, you can link the branch (~lenz-mysql/mylvmbackup/trunk) to the trunk series for mylvmbackup (https://launchpad.net/mylvmbackup/trunk). Once this is done, people can grab your trunk branch with:

  bzr branch lp:mylvmbackup

    Interesting

After the step
$ scripts/mysql_install_db --user=mysql
I get the following error:

FATAL ERROR: Could not find ./share/fill_help_tables.sql

If you are using a binary release, you must either be at the top
level of the extracted archive, or pass the --basedir option
pointing to that location.

I see the survey doesn't list PHP under Q19; I may (mistakenly) imagine it's the most common language when it comes to LAMP. It may be beneficial to add it?

    Hi! Great stuff, Lenz!

Just a quick FYI: You can use the a2enmod command to enable mod_rewrite. So, instead of:

cd /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/
sudo ln -s ../mods-available/rewrite.load .

You could also do:

sudo a2enmod rewrite

At least, this works with Debian/Ubuntu. Not sure about rpm-based or Suse...

Cheers!

    Hi Lenz,

I know the userland feeling <img src="http://www.lenzg.org/templates/default/img/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":-)" style="display: inline; vertical-align: bottom;" class="emoticon" />

That said, DTrace is just extremely valuable for looking under the hood.

Nice collection of resources. I am very interested in Solaris Cluster and can't wait to deploy in our environment for testing.

This could be the answer to DRBD.

I see a lot of people using things like what you've mentioned here, however, as an out of the box solution, we stumbled across this company at hostcon, and linuxworld last year (2007). We're using them for point in time mysql backups, completely successfully:

www.r1soft.com

I highly recommend it, as for an out of the box solution, it works perfectly.
